Toxins Within Us
+ Metabolic toxins
- Metabolic toxins (or body toxins) are normal by-products of out metabolism occurring throughout the mind and body.
- Waste byproducts are produced throughout every metabolic pathway in the mind and body that must be eliminated from the body. Think of it using this analogy. Gasoline is the fuel (food) for your car’s engine (mind and body) and the exhaust (metabolic toxins) is the toxins produced by the natural processes occurring during internal combustion of your car’s engine.
+ What contributes towards metabolic toxicity?
If there is a deficiency or excess of any of the nutrients required for the specific metabolic pathway, the pathway is not completed in an efficient manner and results in an excess of a metabolic toxin.
+ Understanding Detoxification
Detoxification starts in your liver. While it’s a complicated process, your liver essentially does this in two phases. First, it converts toxic substances to highly reactive metabolites and then excretes these toxins. Your kidneys, lungs, gut and skin also play a role in detoxification.
+ Nutrient imbalance & hudration
Nutrient imbalances include nutrient excesses and deficiencies, inherited enzyme deficits, toxic elements, chemical toxicants, medications, stress, and so on. Metabolic toxins can produce a long list of symptoms and conditions throughout the mind and body.
+ Drinking adequate amounts of clean water is essential for the cleanse and detox.
If you are female, the recommendation is 2.7 liters daily, or around 91 ounces. As a male, you need at least 3.7 liters, which is 125 ounces per day. Don't drink everything at once, though. Flushing and waste removal requires a steady supply of fluid throughout the day. You should be frequently taking a sip here and there during your waking hours.
+ Sugar and simple carbohydrates.
It is NOT the FDA’s intention, no matter how unhealthy, to remove 80% of the high-carb foods in the market. As such, you may want to think before you consume that triple bun hamburger or two-inch thick-crusted pizza. You are simply loading your body (or your children’s body) with poison no matter how good it tastes! Think about the anti-freeze in your car. Most are filled with ethylene glycol. This extremely sweet tasting liquid will kill you in a matter of minutes! Just because it tastes good doesn’t mean it is good for you. Toxins as end products of our metabolism:
+ Mental toxins-toxic beliefs.
Free radicals: are toxic byproducts of oxygen metabolism that can cause significant damage to living cells and tissues in a process called "oxidative stress." The vitamins and minerals the body uses to counteract oxidative stress are called antioxidants.
Free radicals are unstable molecules desperately seeking electrons for stability. They are known to cause cellular and DNA damage in our body, which in turn contribute to aging and the onset of various diseases.
